Zentrales Anliegen ist die Sensibilisierung für ethnische und kulturelle Unterschiede von PatientInnen und der Belegschaft. Die «Amsterdamer Erklärung» ist im Rahmen einer Konferenz des EU-Pilotprojekts «Migrant Friendly Hospitals» entstanden und in elf europäischen Sprachen erhältlich.
